From the Director, Victoria Sutton:

This kind of intensive programme appeals to people of all walks of life and not necessarily simply as stage craft. I have had students who were nervous speaking in public, or did not do well in job interviews, or who felt uncomfortable in social settings. The tools reviewed help to build general confidence and ease with oneself in a variety of life settings. They may include work, social, or volunteer. For some students, any situation where interaction is required is difficult. I had a couple who came to my classes because they had a child with severe disabilities and found that they had a hard time speaking on her behalf. They needed to learn how to emote without being emotional. I have had professors, one from physics who loved numbers and equations and disliked people. Another, an art professor, needed to find a way to better express himself when articulating the thoughts behind his work. I had an attorney who hated court! …and a Chairman of a Board of Directors who disliked speaking in public (actually I have had a few of those). Anyway, the reasons are as varied as the students themselves.

The amazing thing is that a huge number of them have little or nothing to do with actual stage craft.
